“Four Horsemen”, “Seven Seals”, “a great multitude of white-robed people”, “angels”, and “elders”, a Lamb and a throne, and suddenly, Revelation gets kind of weird! What can all of these strange and unusually images mean to us living nearly 2,000 years after they were written?

We rejoin our Steadfast Revelation journey this weekend as we get to the heart of the “Remain Steadfast” message written to first-century Christians struggling amidst the political, religious and cultural uncertainties of the time. John is certain about his message. God is in control of all things. Brutal and corrupt governments, mighty and violent armies, deadly pestilences and horrible famines cannot stop God from bringing about his good salvation. John presents the scene of a vast multitude of people in heaven singing: “Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!” His message is clear. There is a great future and it is filled with hope! God will prevail no matter what!

Is this the same message we need to hear these days amid the challenges of violence, war, pestilences, famines and other terrible things? The answer is: “YES!”
