A Ministry of Grace in the Heart of Andover

O God who feed us with the Bread of Life: sometimes Lord, we are speechless and unable to find adequate words to express our shock, rage, fear, and deep grief at the terrible events in our world. This week our hearts are filled with sorrow of the loss of life in Las Vegas. We can’t understand what would lead someone to hurt so many innocent people. Is this just another example of the deep hunger for acceptance, meaning, and love which pervades our humanity? Is the brokenness of sin starving us from seeing each other as your beloved children? Is that the reason why rage and hate saturates a person’s heart to the point they shoot and hurt others? You promise to feed us with the Bread of Life…Life, Lord…not death! Please Lord, as you sent manna and quail to feel the hungry Israelites, please feed us with Jesus – his love, forgiveness and healing! Heal our nation. Bring unity of purpose as we pray for the families who are grieving and filled with deep sadness. Feed us all with peace and forgiveness. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

O God who feeds you Church with the wonder of forgiveness and love, we pray on behalf of Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal Church in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Bless Pastor Ramón as he leads his church during these difficult times. Use our Noisy Offerings to help them start a soup kitchen to feed those who have lost so much. May it serve as a gift of grace from the heart of Andover.

We remember our brothers and sisters at Hope Fellowship Church in Ramsey. Bless Pastor Josh, the staff and leadership as they minister to their community. We especially pray for their upcoming Youth Retreat…that your Spirit will grow faith in the lives of the youth. We also lift up to you the children preparing for their first communion. May they experience this meal of forgiveness in a meaningful way. Lord, in your mercy,  hear our prayer.
