The February 11, 2014 Vision Board Meeting was held at Lori Ackerson’s home.

Assumptions to Consider from the Focus 20/20 Report – Worship Concerns. Jesus set up a church to grow. As a church gets “healthier,” it grows (connection and spiritual formation). Our worship attendance will continue to increase. As a whole, we want Grace to get healthy and let the Holy Spirit do what it is suppose to do. We have assumed that the worship service is the primary entrance for those not connected to a church and we need to make an extra effort to welcome and include everyone in our church services. That is why Grace uses the overhead screens and PowerPoint slides for those who do not have a church home or may not be Lutheran. We give page numbers for the readings in the bible. As to the liturgical part of service, the PowerPoint indicates where it can be found in the bible. We cannot assume everyone is on the same spot in their spiritual formation. We have to be careful to include all people, whether novice or old hand.

No changes and/or revisions were made to the minutes. A motion was brought by Alden Riley, seconded by BreAnn Haugrud, to accept the minutes. Motion passed.

Lenten Suppers will be held again this year. The Vision Board will be serving tacos on Wednesday, April 9.

Synod Assembly will be held at Lord of Life Church in Ramsey, Minnesota, on May 2 and 3, 2014. Tentatively, Dennis Grabowski, Alden Riley and BreAnn Haugrud will be attending. We have room for one more person to attend. If it is not a Vision Board member, we will ask a member of the church to attend.

A discussion was held regarding Holy Conversations that were held and feedback received. The Holy Conversations team prepared material for Holy Conversations III meetings. Pastor Mark brought the material to the Vision Board for review and discussion. This material may be put on Grace’s website prior to the Holy Conversation Meetings for participates to review prior to each session (four sessions).

The pastors have informed the Vision Board they will not leave the church no matter what decision is made in regards to same-sex weddings.

Dennis conveyed an idea to the Vision Board regarding a trip to Israel and having it advertised through Grace. The trip would be open to people outside of Grace. Dennis would obtain more information and pass it on.
